Sanjeev (born 1978, India) started learning violin at the age of seven. He was a prodigy as he was able to translate songs into swaras even at the age of three. He inherited the essence of Carnatic music from his versatile mother; Smt. Brinda Venkataramanan, a disciple of Tanjore Shri S. Kalyanaraman. Sanjeev has been under the tutelage of his illustrious Guru Kalaimamani Kum. A. Kanyakumari since 1990. She is a dedicated teacher and has given high-level training to Sanjeev meticulously. She introduced him on stage for his debut concert at the age of 15. In the year I998, Sanjeev started his musical career as an accompanying violinist. He gained considerable reputation in his early youth as an accompanist to many eminent vocalists in carnatic music and has over 700 concerts to his credit. He has performed widely all over India. His accompanying wizardry and quick response to the various challenges posed by the main artistes has earned him a good name. He has won the prize at the competition held by AIR in the year I995.
